Fanny's advises

img8XTERRA France Age Group Champion overall, Fanny Amann is advising you about your stuff and race tips :

"Regarding the choice of bike, I would advise a pure XC (cross country) hard tail 29'' ! On large parts and particularly in the long rocky descents. You'll have a better grip because more contact with the ground and a better efficiency especially when you are climbing because your bike is more nervous.

A duel suspensioncan be good also, especially when going downhill, for comfort and can be safer. But that's tougher when you go up hills.

Regarding the choice of tires, it's, off course, according to the weather. If heavy rain the previous day and during the race, do not install tires for ''mud''. I mean, the field will be fat, but the mud does not stick, it's rather sandy soil. Take a wider tire on the front than the rear one for better grip on the ground!

The course is a true technical mountain bike trail where each participant must be agile on his bike. Manage your first bike loop from beginning to end and don't reach the red zone. That will allow you free your '' watts'' in the second loop and to give everything after the last aid station in Grouvelin because the worst is over!

Full Gas for the 2013 edition!"
